In 1996, Devolver Digital released Pocket Volvy: a virtual pet starring its beloved big-handed mascot.
But a fatal software error meant Volvy would not stop crapping, and would eventually die from the relentless build-up of his own stinking effluence.
At great expense, every Pocket Volvy was recalled and destroyed. But earlier this year, elite net surfers discovered the software hidden deep in the dark web—which has now been emulated here for your 'pleasure'.
This is the first time since 1996 that Pocket Volvy, long thought lost, has been playable. How long can you keep Volvy alive? Five minutes? An hour? Set the world record? Enjoy!

I lost my Pocket Volvy back in 1996. :( I am happy to have another chance to take care of Volvy e-pet!
I remember when I got my first Volvy e-pet. I loved the guy, even if I had to clean its craps every 15 seconds. I went days upon days without food nor sleep only to dedicate my life to Volvy.
When the police came to take him from me, I cried so hard I crapped myself, and I´ve had to live with both the crap and the sadness since.
This new Volvy virtual e-pet allows me to complete a period of my life that was taken from me. It allows me to finally live all those beautiful moments that I was supposed to have with my best friend. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
